0281 – Meet Dan the Downer

Hilarious. But sadly, there is a very stark truth to this.

Let’s do something. Here’s to a happier, more sustainable world.

Ha! I love cyanide and happiness. One thing you may want to fix is that you cannot see the whole photo in the frame. You might want to resize it or something.

Ah. Fixed. Thanks for pointing that out!

This reminded me of my manager from a job I had in high school. His name was also Dan, and he had a very pessimistic (he claimed it was realistic) view of the world. Unlike this cartoon, no one would ever call him out on him for it, since he was our manager.

As someone who’s blog is dedicated to complaining about random and inane things in this world, Cyanide and Happiness comics always make me laugh. Great comic strip with a great message. As ironic as it is, I always try and approach the world optimistically, because honestly, who likes a pessimist?

Hahaha I love this comic strip. This made me think… do you ever think about any connection between happiness and optimism? Like do you think it’s possible for a pessimist to be “happier” than an optimist? Personally, I feel like a person’s mindset and their behaviors contribute a lot to their overall happiness. In my psych class, we’ve been talking about resilient children and how having a positive temperament does so much for them. I’d love to tell you about it sometime!
